Reports
of Affiliates and Committees of The World Calendar Association,
International, presented at the Ninth Annual Meeting 16
January 1956, reflect the world-wide interest in and
need for calendar reform. Published highlights (JCR Vol. 25, Dec.
1955 - Jan. 1956) for PAKISTAN:
During
the month of August a new committee for calendar reform was established
in Pakistan through the efforts of Professor colin Jackson, who
did promotional work for The World Calendar Association while
on a trip to the Far East. Professor Jackson was able to secure
the services of Mr. Sharaf Faridi of Karachi as Chairman of this
Committee.
Mr.
Faridi reports that he had had discussions with important individuals
on the subject and has been successful in arousing the interest
of the Pakistan Student council. He plans an extensive program
to introduce The World Calendar to the people of Pakistan.
