1953

SUSTAINED progress toward the international enactment of calendar reform was reported at the Seventh Annual Meeting 15 January 1954 of The World Calendar Association, International, held in the International Building, New York City. Published highlights (JCR Vol. 24, April 1954) for NICARAGUA:

Four lectures on calendar reform were delivered at the National University by the Vice-Rector, Dr; José H. Montalvan, as follows: 18 April: Need for a New Calendar; 16 September: Fundamentals for the Adoption of a Revised Calendar; 22 October: Inconveniences of the Present Calendar; 18 November: Progress Toward Adoption of a More Stable Calendar. . . . Dr. Montalvan also formally delivered to the government of Nicaragua a request that it instruct its U.N. delegation to support the action of India at the ECOSOC meeting in Geneva.
