1955 of The World Calendar Association, International,
held in the International Building, New York City, . Published
highlights (JCR Vol. 24, March 1955) for MEXICO:
Conferences
on the advantages of The World Calendar were held at the offices
of the Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics.
A
report was recently made to the National Astronomical Observatory
so that a reply to the United Nations could be made, particularly
in reference to the position of the Mexican Government, when
it supported the proposal to substitute The World Calendar
for the Gregorian calendar. [In 1937 the President gave instructions
to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Mexico "should
support the draft reform"--The World calendar plan.]
